Cedar Coast Field Station invites researchers from a diversity of disciplines to contribute to interdisciplinary ecological studies in Clayoquot Sound. We collaborate with Cedar Coast Art and Ecology Centre on Vargas Island to host and provide each researcher with the resources needed to effectively complete their projects while staying on Vargas Island. We are happy to collaborate on and facilitate research from all fields of study. Our focus is in supporting research with an emphasis on better understanding and preserving the ecological health within Clayoquot Sound.
To facilitate external research, we can offer a small life sciences dry-lab, and field equipment for visiting researchers. Cedar Coast has connections with local knowledge holders to help inform projects through the planning phase to completed research.
Please contact our Research Coordinator for more information about the available facilities, equipment and general research inquiries.
